‍THE ONE-MILE DISTANCE IS A RACE FOR EVERYONE – OF ANY AGE & ABILITY

‍Every summer,  the one-mile stretch of Yakima Ave. is shut down, feet taking on the road. Yakima Mile comprises 11 heats ranging from
the non-competitive Family Mile to the Elite Mile. Yakima Mile is a community event that invites you to experience the joy of the mile.

Whether you walk or run for fun, or set your eyes on a cash prize, we hope you'll join us in celebrating community, supporting the YWCA Yakima, and enjoying a once-a-year type of evening at the Yakima Mile!

MILES AGAINST VIOLENCE (MAV) PLEDGE RUN

run by Katie Huibregtse in support of YWCA Yakima and survivors of DV

Katie will begin the Miles Against Violence Pledge run at the same time as the first heat–the Family Mile–of the Yakima Mile at 6:00 PM. Then, she will continue to run laps up and down the mile stretch of Yakima Ave. until the end of the races, about 2 hours later. Individuals and businesses are invited to pledge dollar amounts for every mile Katie runs for the 2024 Yakima Mile (she expects to run 15-20 miles), all funds go directly to YWCA Yakima.
