YAKIMA MILE

Yakima Mile Logo.png

The Yakima Mile is a point-to-point road race, finishing in the shadows of Yakima's historic Art Deco Larson Building. Every summer the 14-block stretch of Yakima Ave is shut down and runners, walkers, and dogs take over the road - stay tuned for 2023!

THE MILE

the ONE-MILE DISTANCE is a RACE FOR EVERYONE – of ANY AGE & of ALL ABILITIES

The Yakima Mile is composed of 11-heats (races within the race starting at different times) ranging from the
non-competitive Family Mile to the Elite Mile, where we may very well see history be made in 2023...

...every year, for our three iterations, the Yakima Mile has clocked the Men's or Women's Fastest Mile ever run in Washington!

Sam Prakel - 3:50.5 (2022) | Nikki Hiltz - 4:21 (2021)

Regardless of if you walk or run for fun, or you have your eyes set on some cash prizes, we hope you'll join us in celebrating community, supporting the YWCA Yakima, and having a once-a-year type of night at the Yakima Mile!

heats for walkers, joggers, dogs. . . and EVERYONE!
